Staff

Sam Anderson
President/Founder

Sam grew up enthralled by performing arts and fascinated with computers and the internet, though these are two areas that never naturally collided.

Bringing those two specialties together, he created EmptySpace Technology to use his experience with the entertainment industry and knowledge of the internet to help arts organizations successfully harness the power of the internet.

Sam is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he emphasized in Stage Management and Directing.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Art and Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas and works a “day job” as a User Experience engineer for a major internet technology company.

Sam is a member of Actors’ Equity (AEA) as well as the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT).

Jason McDaniel
Partner

During Jason’s twenty-year performing-arts career, he has worked in a number of professional (both union and non-union) as well as academic and community theatres in many capacities, most often as Scenic Designer and Technical Director.

He has created a solid foundation in maintaining a quality product with an emphasis on efficiency of work. He holds a BFA in Scenic Design & Technology and a MFA in Scenic Automation and currently works in the production department for a major Las Vegas show.

Jason’s dedication to achieving and maintaining an established artistic vision through communication and collaboration has led him to partner with EmptySpace to help create web-based products for the performing arts.
